Dr. Mystyn W Mills
Broadly I am interested in how environmental heterogeneity and species interactions shape traits and metacommunity variation. I am especially interested in how trait-based approaches can help us understand novel ecological communities and inform our efforts at restoration and rewilding to restore functional ecological trajectories in the face of environmental uncertainties.

Sara Avrit
I am a masters student interested in physical geography. My passions and interests include shark migration/population distribution in relation to climate change, oak regeneration in the Sierra Nevada Foothills, human/animal encounters and conflicts. I obtained my bachelors from CSULB in Political Science with a minor in Geography and Computer Science. I enjoy being able to use all aspects of my educational background in my Master project with Mystyn. A fun fact about me is I grew up going camping at least 4 times a year so I am definitely an outdoors person and not into social media! Ask my family, they will say I live under a rock.
